The First Step
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is required to establish eligibility for federal, state and university grants, loans and work-study jobs.
The form is used to calculate your Student Aid Index (SAI), which determines the types of aid you are eligible to receive. Most students who complete the FAFSA are eligible for student loans.
While the priority date for filing is March 1, it’s best to file as early as possible.
When applying, use the UNH federal school code (also called the Title IV Code): 002589
Find Scholarships
Thousands of scholarships are awarded to UNH students each year, in areas including academic achievement, academic concentration, community service, leadership, athletics and more. Additional scholarships are offered by our schools and colleges.
